Tom Shorterz

Easy ravers! Sakura have come and gone,
the weather’s picking up and the time has come for another House Not House event! This one’s a little bit special!
This May 21st, in the intimate den than is Forest Limit Hatagaya,
HNH are very excited to present two giants of house music, one Tom Shorterz from the UK,
the other Japan’s very own Soichi Terada.

All flavours of house music will be provided.
From Shorterz’ extra bouncy house & bass – to the deep grooves of Soichi’s original 90s house cuts.
From the bumpin disco/NY vibez of Atlanta’s Jayda B’s selection – to the naughty and nice tech house of
Tokyo DJ Sar. From House Not House DJs Datwun and Frankie Dollar,
you already know to expect nothing but darkside and wavey deep tech and UK house and exclusive HNH material.
It’s a hell of a lineup and it’s gonna be #GOOD

Tom Shorterz is best known as the founder of Birmingham’s leading rave,
the massive 02:31 after party; for his monthly vibezy Rinse FM shows showcasing best in all the range of UK house and bass;
and for his wicked productions, both solo and working with producers such as Chris Lorenzo, and vocalists from Katy B to Lucy Love.
He came, played and tore down our very first HNH event, alongside 02:31’s Andy Bell and Pete Graham,
and we know he’s packing plenty of original fire and exclusive heat to come and damage the dance again!

To call Soichi Terada part of house legend is just fact.
Founding the Far East Recording label in 1988 soon after graduating university with a degree in Computer Science,
his early tracks drew huge interest from the still young American house scene and ’Sunshower’,
recorded with 80s J-pop idol Nami Shimada, became an unground anthem at New York’s Paradise Garage,
getting remixed by Larry Levan. For many outside Japan however,
Soichi’s best known work was his background music for the Ape Escape games.
This changed in 2015, when the Dutch label Rush Hour released Soichi’s ‘Sounds From The Far East’
compilation and brought his work to a new generation of listens. Now adays Soichi can be found touring around Europe,
Asia and America, bringing his strange groovy house, madly creative live performance and infectious joy wherever he does.
